Unfortunately, Vic Beasley just has not worked out for his hometown Atlanta Falcons. There was a lot of hope that he would become the pass rush specialist that the Falcons and Dan Quinn envisioned him being.

Beasley’s downfall was never developing that second or third move once his speed rush was neutralized. Whether he never thought it was important enough to work on or no one within the Falcons coaching staff ever made him a development priority is something that we may never know.

Vic Beasley can still be productive in this league under the right coach and system. Dan Quinn has never used Beasley correctly and seems like he has dropped in coverage just as much as he has rushed the passer.

Beasley has the chance to become a Jason Babin type of player in the second half of his career if he lands in the right system. If you are unaware of Babin, he had 15 total sacks in his first five seasons and then ended his career with more than 60 sacks as he went on an absolute tear the final six years of his career once he got his “change of scenery”.

At this point, the Atlanta Falcons would take anything for Beasley as they are simply going to let him walk at the end of the season.
