Highly likely Dan Quinn is the Falcons coach in 2020

Dan Quinn and the Falcons came into today’s game 1-6 and many were expecting for this game against the Seattle Seahawks to be a complete blowout, surprisingly that wasn’t the case.

In true fashion, Atlanta Falcons came out slow and down 24-0 at the end of the first half but in the second half, they made this game very competitive but still fell short to the Seahawks 27-20. Dan Quinn and the defense made some great adjustments at halftime and held the Seahawks to just three points.

At this point, the playoffs are officially out the picture but with the way the Falcons played today, they might have given Dan Quinn a glimmer of hope when it comes to keeping his job.

Matt Schaub filled in for Matt Ryan and he put some very similar numbers. He threw for 460 yards and a touchdown but he did throw a costly interception in the first half to Mychal Kendricks.

The defensive even showed up a little. Yes, they still had their same tackling issues but they were able to get to Russell Wilson twice in the backfield something that hasn’t done much of this season.

The Falcons could have very well had their second win of the season if it weren’t for two missed field goals by Matt Bryant and a costly turnover by Devonta Freeman in the red zone.

Arthur Blank said he wasn’t going to make a coaching change during the season and he wanted to see how well the team played and how they would respond. Well, they responded in the best way possible without getting the win.

If your team starting out 1-7 isn’t enough to force a coaching change in season, then the Falcons playing .500 football in the second half of their season will be enough to earn Dan Quinn another year as the Falcons head coach.

The Falcons have something to build on after this performance. If Matt Ryan was healthy and available to play today, the result might have been different. It looked like the team was trying their hardest and doing something that most people thought they weren’t doing at all this season….playing for Dan Quinn’s job.

Arthur Blank is as much to blame as any player or coach. dark. Next

This game might have saved Dan Quinn’s job and possibly bought Quinn another year to turn things around, only if they continue to play better as the season goes on.
