This is more of a dream list. Most NFL general managers do not just up and quit their jobs. The hope would be the new stadium, Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and helping to put a team that is Super Bowl worthy in talent over the top and become an instant legend in the business.

While we should not hold our breath that any of these candidates actually answer the phone should Arthur Blank call, it is okay to dream, regardless of what some fans think.

Howie Roseman – Eagles

Roseman has spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Eagles and started with them fresh out of law school. He was originally brought in to alleviate any of their salary cap issues and has grown and flourished with them ever since.

The hope here is Roseman feeling like he has accomplished every that he can in Philly and is looking for a new challenge and wanting to put another franchise over the top.

Kevin Colbert – Steelers

Unlike Howie Roseman, Kevin Colbert has worked with several NFL franchises over the last 30 plus years. He has been with the Steelers since 2000 and has helped lead them to several Super Bowl appearances and of course, two Super Bowl wins.

Even though he is a native of Pittsburgh, at 62, he may want a change in scenery and weather. Cold winters don’t become easier as you age and Atlanta would give him a better quality of life as our mild winters are heaven compared to Pittsburgh.

John Schneider – Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider, not to be confused with the former Dukes of Hazzard star, started his NFL career at the age of 22 as a scout with the Green Bay Packers and has worked his way up through the Packers, Chiefs, Redskins, and Seahawks.

He has been the architect behind Seattle’s impressive run and Super Bowl titles and has been part of two Super Bowl-winning teams as a General Manager; Green Bay in 2010 and Seattle in 2013.

Bringing his knowledge and ability to identify talent in the draft in every round, would be huge for Atlanta.

Joe Douglas – Jets

Douglas has been on the job less than a year in New York and is already finding out that his current situation is much tougher than he imagined when he took over.

This time last year Douglas was the hotshot “cannot miss” assistant general manager. Jumping to Atlanta Falcons would be a big boost for his career and something he would listen to.
