Can the Atlanta Falcons win their sixth straight over Tampa?

facebooktwitterreddit

For the first time in 2019, the Atlanta Falcons enter a game as a huge favorite to beat their opponent. Can they win three straight for the first time since the end of the 2018 NFL season?

The Atlanta Falcons take on a Bucs team lead by one of the worst young quarterbacks in the league in Jameis Winston who has thrown 18 interceptions already this season. Can a Falcons defense that has completely transformed over the last couple of weeks, keep their hot streak going and force Jameis into a couple more interceptions today? Hopefully.

Here is how the Blogging Dirty staff thinks today breaks down.

This Atlanta Falcons team is fun! It almost feels like they installed kool-aid fountains in Flowery Branch and the team was able to go back and find the joy in the game and it’s amazing to see.

For the first time last week, Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley were able to record sacks in the same game and if Takk is able to go today, hopefully, they can do it again. The secondary is going to have a chance to pick off a duck or two from Winston and hopefully allow this Falcons offense to play from ahead where they are extremely dangerous.

The third-ranked passing attack led by Matt Ryan, should have fun today and be able to put up a lot of points against the Bucs. Brian Hill will record his first 100 yard game of the season as well.

The Falcons are on a roll sparked by, wait for it, their defense. And Jameis Winston is a turnover machine. Atlanta keeps the switch flipped and pulls out a third straight division win.

The Falcons defense should continue to dominate in this game. They will give up their first touchdown in three games but will continue to pressure Jameis Winston into committing turnovers, being the turnover that machine he is.  The Falcons run game needs to improve this week, which will be difficult against Tampa Bay’s defensive line.  Either way, the Falcons will cover easily and win in a rout.

Count on both teams to rely heavily on their passing attacks. Neither team has a running back that has had a 100 yard game on the ground. Only two times this season has any running back featured in this game broken 20 carries in a game.

This game easily could turn into a shoot out as both teams passing offenses are top four in the league. Atlanta’s passing defense has allowed 19 touchdowns on the season; Tampa has allowed a near league-worst with 25. However, even with Tampa Bay’s fourth rated passing offense, Jameis Winston is a turnover machine. 13 interceptions in the last five games, 18 on the season. He is bound to turn the ball over. I find it hard to believe that Tampa’s 31st rated passing defense will slow down the league’s third-best passing offense

Falcons go up against the Bucs on Sunday. With the way the Falcons have been playing, this should be a blowout but this is also a classic situation where the Falcons could be caught slipping. Jameis Winston is a walking turnover and as long as the Falcons defense puts the clamps on Mike Evans, this should be a walk in the park. Falcons have been playing good on offense and all they have to do and keep it up. It should be an easy day for the Falcons.

The Falcons are a new team since coming off the bye week. The defense has not allowed a touchdown in the last 10 quarters. That trend will likely come to an end on Sunday as the Buccaneers have the capability of putting up a lot of points. However, the defense is still going to play one of their better games of the 2019 season.

The Falcons will be in control throughout this game and the Buccaneers are going to score late so the score does not look as bad. Expect a monster game from both Matt Ryan and Julio Jones on Sunday.

dark. Next. Julio Jones is due for a big game

The Atlanta Falcons have played outstanding football the last two weeks against division foes, not allowing a single touchdown in either game. The defense is forcing turnovers and getting to the quarterback.

This game against Tampa Bay, with the way the Falcons have played the last two games, should be a cakewalk. However, Jameis usually plays well against the Falcons. Sure, the Bucs aren’t any good, but this is a division game.
