Ugly Atlanta Falcons reappear against the Bucs

The 2019 Atlanta Falcons re-appeared again today at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Falcons’ fans felt great coming off two big road wins against Carolina and New Orleans.

There was a whole lot of wrong for the Atlanta Falcons Sunday in Mercedes Benz against the Bucs; coaching and playing. We knew without Austin Hooper, Kemal Ishmael, and a healthy Takk McKinley that it would be a tough task. However, coaching changes allowed us to believe that the Falcons could still come out on top.

The blitzing and communication we had seen the last couple of weeks on defense was nowhere to be found. The offensive line that had protected Matt Ryan and opened up holes in the run game since the bye-week was nowhere to be found either.

The Atlanta Falcons were at home for the first time in a month and treated the home crowd to a comedy of errors on both sides of the ball.

This is one of those performances that took us all back to Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. It was head-scratching and seemingly came out nowhere. The Falcons looked like they had turned the page and were playing up to their talent level.

Raheem Morris and Jeff Ulbrich had two back to back solid game plans and today it looked like Dan Quinn had taken the defense back over. There were no blitzes and no pressure to be found by the guys in red jerseys.

The Bucs were the tougher more prepared team today and attacked the Falcons at the line of scrimmage and the Falcons had no answer at any point in time today. Disheartening to say the least.

The Falcons have to get it together quickly as they have a four-day turnaround this week as the New Orleans Saints will be in town Thursday in what we all hope will not be a Thanksgiving Day massacre at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
