When thinking back on Roddy White’s remarkable career, one moment comes to mind right away. That moment is against the San Francisco 49ers in 2010.

His determination to not let this game slip away is what gave Matt Bryant the opportunity to win that game.

Ryan threw an interception late in the 4th quarter with the Falcons down 14-13. 49ers cornerback Nate Clements thought he was on his way to finishing the Falcons off with a game-sealing pick-six. Little did Clements know, White was running right behind him. White eventually caught up to him and forced a game-saving fumble that was recovered by Falcons offensive lineman Harvey Dahl.

Ryan proceeded to lead a drive down the field that was finished off by a game-winning field goal by Bryant.

With that forced fumble, White proved that winning meant everything to him. He wanted to do whatever it took to win.

The career that he left behind led him to Sunday’s enshrinement into the Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor. After Sunday, his name will be with all-time Falcons greats like Jesse Tuggle, William Andrews, and Deion Sanders, among others. He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest players to ever put on a Falcons uniform, an accolade that he rightfully deserves.
