The 28-3 Atlanta Falcons jokes are old
By Joe Beasley
Today is the day that some Atlanta Falcons fans have been dreaded for a few years now and it’s all because of the Super Bowl.
If you’ve been under a rock for the past few years, the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Today just happens to be March 28th aka 3/28. This joke is so tired, played out and straight-up lame.
Someone took the time and energy and had the idea to make some sort of ”holiday” about the collapse of the Atlanta Falcons. The 49ers blew a 10 point lead after being up 20-10 on the Chiefs so let’s all celebrate that by picking on the 49ers every time 10:20 pops up on the clock or 10/20 should be the day we celebrate San Francisco’s collapse.
The Falcons did blow a lead in the Super Bowl. Those are the kinds of things that have been happening to the teams in Georgia whether it’s professional or collegiate. The Falcons aren’t the first team to blow a lead and it certainly won’t be the last. This is also not the last time the Falcons will be in the Super Bowl. It’s going to happen again and they will win one.
The Buffalo Bills went to the Super Bowl in the early ’90s in four consecutive years and didn’t win not one tome. Saints fans especially love bringing this up but none of them like to bring up how they can’t seem to beat the Vikings in a playoff game and don’t bring up the fact they cheated their way to the Super Bowl the year they did it.
The 28-3 jokes were cute for all of 15 seconds and some poor person with a team that’s irrelevant had to make something like this up. The world of sports is unpredictable as everyone knows and odds of that happening won’t ever happen again.
