Former Auburn Tiger Marlon Davidson is a good player. He had a good career at Auburn and is a versatile athlete, being able to play both on the edge and the interior. Unfortunately, he does not have much experience defending against the run, only playing on 51 percent of snaps.

The Atlanta Falcons desperately need help in the interior of the run defense because Grady Jarrett can’t do it all himself. Davidson is a fine player, but he doesn’t fit the need of what the Atlanta Falcons should be looking for. He is projected by some sources to go in the second or third round and the Atlanta Falcons would most likely be looking to draft an interior defensive lineman in one of those two rounds after hopefully drafting a corner in the first.

A guy like Texas A&M’s Justin Madubuike would be a better fit for the Atlanta Falcons. He is projected to be available in the second or third round and could prove to be a fine asset to go alongside Jarrett. He has more experience defending the run and is very quick on his feet, possessing the ability to run right pass offensive lineman with his quick off the ball speed. The Atlanta Falcons need a pass rusher who can also be a run stuffer and Madubuike could be that guy.
