12. LaRoy Reynolds – Linebacker – University of Virginia

  • How acquired: 2020 free agency
  • Excitement level: Non-existent

Reynolds is back for the second time with the Atlanta Falcons; he was part of the 2016 Super Bowl team. He has been with six teams during his short NFL career when you include stints on practice squads.

No disrespect to LaRoy, but this signing doesn’t curl anyone’s toes.

11. Laquon Treadwell – Wide Receiver – University of Mississippi

  • How acquired: 2020 free agency
  • Excitement level: Low

Treadwell has the potential to help the Atlanta Falcons take the top off of the offense in 2020 but he has yet to live up the expectations that come with being a first-round NFL pick. He was cut by the Vikings before the 2019 NFL season and then resigned after injuries created a need.

He will add quality depth to Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Hopefully, a change of scenery will help him figure out how to be successful in the NFL.

10. Mykal Walker – Linebacker – Fresno State University

  • How acquired: 2020 NFL Draft – 4th round
  • Excitement level: Low

High upside linebacker but will be a project for the Atlanta Falcons and linebackers coach Jeff Ulbrich. Will more than likely be a special teams player early on but will have an opportunity to turn heads and earn more playing time behind Deion Jones and Deone Bucannon.

9. Justin McCray – Guard – University of Central Florida

  • How acquired: 2020 free agency
  • Excitement level: Low

The Atlanta Falcons will be McCray’s fourth NFL team since going undrafted in 2014. He has played in 40 NFL games and started 17 of them.

We really want to be more excited about him since the offensive line needs a lot of work. Low expectations for him keep the excitement level from being more than it is.
