Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett is among the best values in the NFL.

A little more than a year ago, Grady Jarrett inked a new four year deal with the Atlanta Falcons that guaranteed him at least $42.5 million and can see him cash in for as much as $68 million.

That was quite a deal for the Atlanta Falcons then and it is an even better deal for them now.

Grady Jarrett is among the best defensive tackles in the game, regardless of what base front you are talking about. Heading into 2020, Aaron Donald is the only defensive tackle in the game better and that isn’t by much.

However, when you look at the salaries of defensive tackles in 2020, Grady Jarrett will be just the eighth highest paid after the Green Bay Packers signed nose tackle Kenny Clark to a monster extension heading into the weekend.

Grady Jarrett is worth more then his current contract will pay him

Among the defensive tackles, DeForest Buckner, D.J. Reader, Aaron Donald, Chris Jones, Derrick Brown, Jarran Reed, and Kenny Clark will make more money in actual cash paid for 2020 than Grady will be.

In 2020, Grady Jarrett will make as much as former Clemson football teammate Shaq Lawson, who has been quite the NFL bust so far. As we know, NFL contract standings are only high until the next one person signs. However, despite his calculated value last season, Grady gave the Falcons a break and took less than his market value dictated he should and would have gotten had he gotten to the open market.

From day one Grady has played well beyond his draft position and continues to play well beyond the worth of his contract. Beyond an initial rookie contract, there aren’t many team-friendly contracts where a player performs well above the value of his contract but Grady Jarrett is among them and might be the most team-friendly deal in the NFL.
