3-Star Rankings

The bulk of most NFL rosters are filled with guys that were ranked 3-stars and lower coming out of high school. Why? Well, generally in any given year there are only 250 combined four and five-star recruits, whereas there are thousands of guys rated 3-stars and lower. Not every four and five-star recruit lives up to the billing either.

The Atlanta Falcons have 13 players on the offensive side of the ball that were 3-star recruits coming out of high school. Franchise quarterback Matt Ryan is the most notable. Matter of fact, the Falcons will more than likely have three starters that were ranked as 3-star recruits coming out of high school – Matt Ryan, second-year guard, and 2019 first-round pick Chris Lindstrom and third receiver Russell Gage.

Other notable former 3-star recruits on the Atlanta Falcons roster include quarterback Kurt Benkert, tight ends Luke Stocker, Jaeden Graham, and Jared Pinkney, running backs Qadree Ollison and Ito Smith and receivers Olamide Zaccheaus and Brandon Powell.
