There is no doubt that the Atlanta Falcons will be in the market for a new head coach soon.

The Atlanta Falcons are 0-4 after their Monday night football loss to the Green Bay Packers. It’s getting to the point where fans are literally counting down the days until Dan Quinn is relieved of his duties as head coach.

When that time does come, the Falcons should take a new approach.

The Atlanta Falcons have had two ”defensive guru’s” as their head coach, Dan Quinn, and his predecessor Mike Smith. Both of them got off to a great start but as time went on, they couldn’t change with the times and that led to them losing games, and losing their job is Smith’s case.

Quinn is following that same path.

It’s a new age in the NFL. Players are stronger, faster, and more talented than ever. The Atlanta Falcons boasts some of the best weapons in the league but it’s easy to see they aren’t being used properly.

light. Hot. Dear Arthur Blank, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Atlanta Falcons need an offensive mind as their next head coach.

Instead of Arthur Blank going the same route he has followed in three of his four head coaches and hiring another defensive-minded guy to coach this team, he should do what the Rams, Bengals, and Cardinals did…find an offensive guy to put these weapons to use.

It’s been said time and time again, the Atlanta Falcons have one of, if not, the best receiving duo in the league in Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Hunter Hurst is more than enough at tight end. Russell Gage is coming into his own as a number three receiver.

Yes, the defense still needs work which is why the Falcons need to go the offensive route when looking for their next head coach. An offensive-minded head coach wouldn’t need to stick his nose in the defensive side of things. Quinn felt the need to do that and we all know how that turned out.

Luckily for the Falcons, there are plenty of those offensive guys that should be available. Maybe Josh McDaniels might want to venture out into becoming a head coach again. Division rival and former quarterback Byron Leftwich could be a name that’s tossed around. The one that everyone is watching out for is Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

It’s only a matter of time until he becomes someone’s head coach.

Next. 3 free agent corners that are better options than Isaiah Oliver. dark

Defense wins championships. While that phrase gets thrown out a lot, it’s just not that kind of league anymore and the Falcons need to catch up with the times. Find an offensive guy to lead this team and let that guy find someone that just needs to focus on the defense.
