T.J. Watt

Four picks after the Takk McKinley selection, the Pittsburgh Steelers were on the clock.

The Steelers would end up selecting T.J. Watt and he is everything the Atlanta Falcons wished Takk could have been.

In three seasons with the team, Takk had 16.5 sacks over 49 games. Watt has 21.5 sacks over his past 24 games. As a matter of fact, in 55 career games, Watt has accumulated 41.5 sacks. That’s not the only thing he does.

He grabs interceptions and knows how to force a fumble like no one’s business. In his young career, he’s already been to the Pro Bowl twice and one All-Pro team. There’s a case to be made that T.J. is now the best Watt player in the league and that’s saying something when your brother is J.J. Watt.

”Well T.J. Watt is an outside linebacker, not a defensive end.” That doesn’t matter at all. The job of the coating staff would be to put someone like Watt in the best position to make plays and that would be to get after the quarterback by any means.

If T.J. Watt were to line up beside Grady Jarrett, the look of this Atlanta Falcons defense would be completely different.
