The Atlanta Falcons may see some familiar faces this week.

Earlier this week the Las Vegas Raiders announced that they had signed former Atlanta Falcons first-round picks, Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley.

Chances are neither will see the field this week and these signings were nothing more than John Gruden attempting to gather as much inside information as possible for this week’s opponent – which happens all the time across the league.

Though, the question becomes, what exactly is Gruden looking for that he doesn’t already know?

The Atlanta Falcons have not been a tough team to figure out, they are the blandest team in the NFL and are easy to figure out. They have no wrinkles and no layers to either their offense or defense.

Given their production on the field, are Beasley and McKinley even able to provide any additional information? Both are very basic players in their own rights and don’t have a lot of depth to them.

Chances are both players will be released sometime between Friday and Monday once Gruden is able to use them for whatever he can.

Atlanta Falcons should be the easiest win of the year for the Las Vegas Raiders.

At 3-7, the Atlanta Falcons are terrible and there is plenty of blame to go around. What you see is what you get with both the offense and Dirk Koetter is incapable of doing anything different.

The lone matchup advantage that the Falcons would have is Julio Jones and while he is clearly the focal point of Koetter’s offense, Koetter does nothing spectacular to get him open. As we saw last week, Koetter also refuses to make any in-game adjustments.

Beasley and McKinley do not provide an extra advantage for the Raiders in any way nor are they better than anyone the Raiders currently use. Sure, they have had some injury issues at the pass rusher spot and are looking for additional depth, but Beasley has been useless the last two years and McKinley started off strong but the injury bug caught him eight weeks ago and hasn’t let up.

Staying in the NFL is hard enough and you never wish to see someone’s career come to an end sooner than they want but chances are both Beasley and McKinley are just one-week rentals and will soon be back on the open market.

Next. Next head coach has to be honest with Matt Ryan. dark
