Atlanta Falcons: Pathetic and unacceptable continue to be the norm
The Atlanta Falcons continue to prove that a complete sweep is needed.
Pathetic and unacceptable seem to be the only acceptable adjectives to describe the Atlanta Falcons and if everyone is being honest with themselves, there isn’t a single player that should be back in 2021.
That may come across as a huge generalization but this team continues to be an embarrassment to the city and to the fans that devote a large portion of their time and money to support players that quite honestly don’t care.
When you look up and down this Atlanta Falcons roster you see that is filled with a ton of talent – on paper, it is one of the Top 10 most talented teams in the NFL and should be a perennial playoff team. However, what rosters cannot tell you is the one thing that every player on this roster lacks – heart.
As interim head coach Raheem Morris said post-game, the Falcons effort in the second half continues to be unacceptable.
The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the best first-half teams in the NFL, yet one of the worst second-half teams. Why – because not one of them care, not Matt Ryan, not Deion Jones, not Calvin Ridley, not Keanu Neal, not Raheem Morris, and certainly not Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank.
How else do you explain getting outscored 31-10 in the second half of a game?
Same Atlanta Falcons nonsense, different year.
Men who care about the franchise they play for and the city they rep correct the blatant issues that are seen every week. Yet, in Atlanta, they have made the same mistakes for five years now. We saw this nonsense in 2015 when the team started 5-0 and we see it now in 2020 at 4-10 and nothing has changed.
We can keep blaming Dirk Koetter but the fact remains, this nonsense was happening before he got here and will continue to happen after he leaves because the players are who they are and until they are gone, we will continue to get this same lackluster effort every week.
Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas said on the Falcons post-game show that when he was here in Atlanta, they had a certain moxy that he no longer sees. He said he and his teammates had the “F*** it, I am going to go make the play that wins this game” and there clearly isn’t that guy on this roster.
Fans can cry about needing a mobile quarterback, better offensive line, or an offensive-minded head coach but until this franchise gets 53 players that actually want to win and be champions, this garbage will continue to happen and continue to embarrass the fan base.
