The painful Atlanta Falcons 2020 season is almost over.

Regardless of what happens Sunday between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday, the 2020 season has been absolute garbage. Regardless of how bad it has been for the Falcons faithful, others have been able to find solace and success in the pain of those that actually live and die for the franchise.

While there have been a lot of painful memories this season watching the Atlanta Falcons, most fans would argue that the October 25th game in Mercedes Benz Stadium between the Lions and Falcons was by far the worst.

While many will argue all Falcons running back Todd Gurley had to do was take a knee and then Pro-Bowl kicker Younghoe Koo would have kicked the game-winning field goal.

Instead, Gurley was helped into the end zone by Lions players and left Matt Stafford and the Lions offense a little more than 60 seconds and no timeouts in order to win the game. As we know, the Falcons defense allowed them to do just that and the Falcons would lose 23-22 and fall to 1-6.

If you’re a Falcons fan, CNN is allowing you to relive that moment as they have added a picture taken by the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Curtis Compton showing Lions linebacker Jamie Collins signaling a touchdown to their photos of the year.

With all that has gone on in 2020, not quite sure how or why this picture made it through their voting process let alone was actually selected but it has been and now Falcons fans can relive this amazing moment over and over again.

When you look at the pictures from October, this is the one that makes the least sense.

The rest of the October pictures are of President Donald Trump, President-elect Joe Biden, California Senator Kamala Harris, people with covid, the Supreme Court nomination process, and other important world issues. This picture makes the least sense given the year that we have had to endure.

Who knows what lies ahead in 2021, but hopefully it will involve the Atlanta Falcons being a lot better than they have been the last three seasons.
