Four Atlanta Falcons youngsters you should be excited about moving forward

The Atlanta Falcons are considered an aging team by the leaders in the industry, but that doesn’t mean the franchise doesn’t have young & promising talent.

One of the major talking points surrounding the Atlanta Falcons over the past couple of season, in particular, is the prevalence of aging stars like Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.

With those two guys- as well as a few others- past their primes, there is a growing idea that the Falcons will have to spend years rebuilding before they can compete again.

However, there is young talent and promise within this franchise that should have Atlanta Falcons excited. Here’s a look at four Falcons who have promising upsides in the early portion of their careers.

4. Mykal Walker

Mykal Walker was selected in the fourth-round by the Falcons, but no one can deny that he has proven his worth well past that draft pick during his rookie season.

Walker was selected to the Pro Football Focus All-Rookie Team, accumulating 43 tackles, 29 solo tackles and one forced fumble in 16 games, that included six starts.

He’s going to have an opportunity to build off those numbers in the coming years. There’s no doubt that Walker still has development to go through, but he certainly has shown much more ability than what analyst had to say about him when he was pegged as a ‘project linebacker.’
