Atlanta Falcons fans should not be rooting for the Bucs in Super Bowl LV
Atlanta Falcons fans have no business rooting for the Bucs in the Super Bowl.
Just four years ago the Atlanta Falcons were heading to the franchise’s second Super Bowl and since the most epic collapse in NFL history, the franchise has headed in the wrong direction.
As the Falcons face an offseason with a new general manager and new head coach and fans all have different ideas as to what should happen this offseason, there is one thing we should all agree on – under no circumstances should Falcons fans be rooting for the Bucs to win Super Bowl LV.
NFL fans across the country can appreciate Tom Brady and the career he has had. To play in 10 Super Bowls in 21 seasons is remarkable and something that will never be accomplished again; you can appreciate what someone has accomplished without rooting for them.
Every time Tom Brady plays in a Super Bowl, it feels personal. To know that one of his wins was against the Atlanta Falcons in the fashion that it happened makes him tough to root for and any Falcons fan that does should feel dirty.
If rooting for Tom Brady to win another Super Bowl doesn’t make you nauseous, then ask yourself why you are okay with rooting for a divisional opponent.
Don’t be the fan we all dislike.
We all know people that are fans of a garbage college football team who jump on the Alabama, Clemson, or Ohio State fan bases at the end of the year and we know just how obnoxious they are and ridiculous they look.
This is no different.
Jumping on the bandwagon of a team from your division simply because they are playing in a Super Bowl is embarrassing and something that no one should be doing.
At best, we should simply hope for a good entertaining game, that the commercials aren’t terrible and that the spread being served is good.
Leave rooting for the teams playing up to the actual fans of the teams playing in the game.
