Yannick Ngakoue – Defensive End

During his NFL career, Yannick Ngakoue has had no less than eight sacks in a season. He seems to really like that number, as he recorded just eight sacks in three of his five NFL seasons.

The Jaguars drafted Ngakoue in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft and he rewarded them with 20 sacks in his first two NFL seasons. The Jags traded him to the Vikings in the 2020 offseason and the Vikings then flipped him to the Ravens just two months later.

After eight sacks in 2020, he is now an unrestricted free agent and looking for a home.

Ngakoue is one of those guys that Cory Joel described above. He and his team are going to find that the money market he wants is simply not there in 2021 because he is not among the elite guys in his position.

He is still talented enough to bring something to a defense on the cusp of becoming elite and that is why he would be really attractive to the Falcons. Pairing him with Grady Jarrett could work out for both of them in 2021.

Should Yannick be forced to take a one-year prove-it type deal, the Falcons would be an ideal spot for him.
