3. LB Deion Jones

  • Restructure Savings: $4.8 million

After his Pro Bowl season in 2017, we haven’t necessarily seen the same Deion Jones.

He only played in six games during the 2018 season, but still posted more than 100 tackles in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Still, most Falcons fans who have watched him play these last couple of years can see a bit of a regression.

That being said, Jones is still young (26 years old) and he is now going to have a chance to get acclimated to a new defensive scheme and system. He’s not goin to be cut before that contract runs out in 2023, so why not save the money- even if it’s just a small amount- in favor of freeing up more space for this season?
