  • Restructure Savings: $9.5 million

Trade Julio Jones? I don’t think that’s happening.

Though he’s aging, Julio Jones is still one of the top receivers in the league and nothing from the Atlanta Falcons has indicated that he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Jones is owed right at about $42.6 million on his remaining three years, but upping his pay in the next two just slightly isn’t going to damage the future cap. We should also believe that the cap will rise in 2022 and 2023 when we are able to have more full stadiums again, as well.

Restructuring his contract will put more weight on the Falcons in the next two seasons, but it would open up necessary space for the team to sign who they need and to bring in some quality talent.
