2. Dwight Freeney

The Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor recipient will forever be known for his seven years where he was named to the Pro Bowl and a three-time first-team All-Pro.

Freeney led the league in sacks during his 2006 season and ended up cumulating a total of 125.5 sacks during his career.

How many of those sacks occurred with the Atlanta Falcons? A total of three.

As we’ve seen already in this post, the Falcons have a history of bringing in All-Pro level players well past their prime. Freeney was already 36 years old when he signed with the Falcons in 2016. The team did go on to finish with an 11-5 record and win the NFC Championship with him on the roster, so that should be noted. However, he started just one game and had a total of 10 tackles.

Still, one could say that Freeney was an instrumental veteran piece that talented Falcons defensive line and he certainly made contributions through his leadership, though his time in Atlanta was short.
