5 Popular Atlanta Falcons that only spent a year in town
1. Brett Favre
The Atlanta Falcons drafted Brett Favre No. 33 overall in the 1991 NFL Draft.
Oh, what could’ve been.
As a second-round pick, Favre would never complete a pass while he was with the Falcons. He played in two games (five total snaps) during the 1992 season. In those five snaps, Favre went 0-for-4 with an atrocious two interceptions and a sack.
The Packers offered a first-round pick to the Falcons for Favre and Atlanta obliged. Talk about what could’ve been.
Favre would go on to be named to 11 Pro Bowls, have three first-team All-Pro seasons, and be named the league MVP three times. He would play in two Super Bowls and win one- Super Bowl XXXI against the New England Patriots.
Over the course of Favre’s 16-year stint with the Packers, the Falcons would make the playoffs just four times. The Packers would go to the postseason 11 times under Favre’s leadership.
