2. QB Mac Jones (Alabama)

It’d be impossible for the Atlanta Falcons to pass on Mac Jones if he were to still be around in the second-round. After all, some analysts have Jones going as high as inside the top-10. There are others, however, that believe he could be the one prospect (and we always see one) who could expect to hear his name called on Day 1 and it simply never happen.

The possibility of that happening? Maybe less than 5 percent, but there’s still a chance.

There is an overarching consensus that there are five ‘top’ quarterbacks in this draft with Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance and Jones being the five in any which order you decide.

If Jones was to fall to that No. 5 spot- which is where many have him pegged now- and he actually could fall further if NFL franchises took advice from a guy like Chris Simms, there’s a chance he could become a Day 2 guy.

If that were to somehow happen and the Falcons don’t take a quarterback with their No. 4 pick, we would expect them to pursue Jones extremely hard. This seems like more of a pipe dream than a likely scenario barring something unforeseen, but we still had to mention it because it is a possibility.
