The Atlanta Falcons are looking forward to their 2021 NFL draft.

The first wave of free agency is in the books as nearly all the household names are in the books and the Atlanta Falcons haven’t been very active thus far meaning this draft becomes even more of a focal point for the future of this franchise.

Today, we take a deep dive into this draft class as we projected all seven rounds for the Atlanta Falcons as we close in on the draft day.

Round 1, Pick – 4: TE Kyle Pitts, Florida

The Atlanta Falcons reworked Matt Ryan’s contract at the start of free agency which quintessentially guaranteed they would not be selecting a QB with their fourth overall selection. The majority of mock drafts conducted this off-season slotted Justin Fields to Atlanta but it appears as if it’s time to hop off that bandwagon and look elsewhere.

Hayden Hurst was good last year for the Atlanta Falcons, catching 56 passes on 88 targets for 571-yards and six scores but he’s not a Kyle Pitts. Arthur Smith loves to get his tight ends involved and the Florida product fits the bill and then some.

Pitts is listed as a TE but can really be a slot receiver who can stretch the field and is a nightmare for LBs and Safeties to cover. Pitts is 6’6 and with the combination of size, speed, and athletic ability he would be a dream fit to pair alongside Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones.
