December 5, 2021, vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Originally scheduled for 1:00 pm

With Tom Brady and company being in Tampa, they are must-see TV, especially as the defending Super Bowl champions. If the Bucs are any good in 2021, NBC executives are going to want them on TV as much as possible this upcoming season.

For the first time in 2020, the Bucs swept the Atlanta Falcons since the 2007 NFL season on their way to the organization’s second Super Bowl victory.

The two teams will face off in week two of the 2021 season and if that game is close, NBC may want the rematch in primetime. Again, that is all going to depend on whether or not the Atlanta Falcons can win games between week two and week 13 of the NFL season.

If the Atlanta Falcons are one of the surprise teams in 2021 like Arthur Smith and Matt Ryan expect, the week 13 rematch will be must-see TV and the game will get flexed.

The only downside to this is potentially seeing another empty Mercedes Benz Stadium on primetime television.
