Atlanta Falcons: Three games that could be flexed to primetime
January 2, 2022, at Buffalo Bills
Originally scheduled for 1:00 pm
Buffalo Bills’ young quarterback Josh Allen is one of the big young names in the National Football League. If the Bills are able to build on the leap they made in 2020 and the Atlanta Falcons are much better than anticipated, this could be one of the biggest games of the year.
With this being a week 17 contest, the playoffs or playoff seeding for both teams could be affected by the outcome of this game and that would define must-see TV.
This could also be a passing of the torch type game as well.
Matt Ryan will be 36 later this month and his career is winding down. With quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson, and Trevor Lawrence all in the NFL in 2021, like Ryan, Josh Allen is rarely mentioned among the great young quarterbacks in the league.
Matt Ryan has had the unfortunate coincidence of playing in the NFL during the same time as Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady, so his greatness is often overlooked and unappreciated.
Each team could be among the best in their respective conferences come January and if that is the case, this game will absolutely be flexed to Sunday Night football.
