Week 11 – New England Patriots
The New England Patriots will visit Atlanta for the first time since September 29, 2013. The Atlanta Falcons have not beaten the Patriots since Chris Chandler was the quarterback and the last time the Falcons beat the Patriots at home, was 1995 and Jeff George was the franchise leader.
Matter of fact Craig Heyward was the game’s leading rusher that night when he accounted for 84 yards on 18 carries for the Falcons.
Obviously, a lot has changed since then and the Falcons are currently in the middle of a six-game losing streak to the Patriots. After missing the playoffs in 2020, Bill Belichick has reloaded the entire Patriots roster and even brought back Atlanta native Cam Newton for the season.
Both teams will have figured out who they are by the time week 11 rolls around. This is also the lone prime-time game that the Falcons have in 2021.
The biggest hurdle for the Falcons coming into this game is that it’s a Thursday night game and they will have played on the road against Dallas in week 10. Meanwhile, the Patriots will have a home game against the Browns before coming to Atlanta.
This will be one of the tougher games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2021 and if they can find a way to win this home game, they will supplant themselves as the surprise team in the NFL and could use the momentum to make a run into the playoffs.
