Atlanta Falcons fans are the ones who suffer amongst the chaos

The Atlanta Falcons have been the focal point of NFL news through the past couple days, and for the better part of a few months. Julio Jones sadly wants out, it is heartbreaking to see. He will forever be a Falcon, but that is not easy to see at the moment.

But who suffers the most during all this Atlanta Falcon news? The fans.

While the fans are usually the ones who are affected the most through things like this, it seems even more true for this situation between Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta Falcons fans have every reason to feel such a way

The rumors that the Falcons are looking to trade Julio Jones have been coming since prior to the draft. At first, it seemed laughable. The thought that trading the franchise player was the only way to clear up money, was hard to believe. Restructuring, or even extending Grady Jarrett seemed like the better option.

That was debated amongst the fans up until Monday morning. This is when the news broke that Julio Jones actually wanted out of Atlanta.

Shannon Sharpe “cold-called” Julio on his morning show with Skip Bayless. During the call, Julio said that he was “out of there.” Those words have ultimately broken the hearts of Atlanta Falcons fans.

As quiet and humble as Julio has been through his 10-year career, this was simply disrespectful to his fans. Whether he knew he was on live TV or not.

If Julio did not know he was live, then Shannon Sharpe was beyond disrespectful to Julio and the many fans of his. We may never know the true answer to that, but again, if Julio Jones had no idea, then that is so utterly disrespectful, that Sharpe deserves to have consequences.

The fans of the Atlanta Falcons have always treated Julio as royalty. He is easily one of the greatest members of the Falcons in history. You have seen nothing but love for him during the past decade.

The same cannot be said for Matt Ryan, one of the other greatest Falcons of all time

Matt Ryan has way too many haters. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but yet people do not see that. If Matt Ryan were to want out of Atlanta, it would be easier to see than Julio. Many fans do not understand the greatness of Matt Ryan, while they only see that with Julio Jones. And sadly, many fans would be happy to watch Matt Ryan leave, even though they do not realize what he does for the team.

Rarely have you seen hate for Julio during the past decade, while on the other hand, you do not have to look far to see tons of hate for Matt Ryan?

That is why it would be more understandable to see Matt Ryan disrespect the fans, than Julio Jones.

Then in the case of the Atlanta Falcons front office, they have seemingly handled this in the best way.

If the rumors are true, the team has kept the true intentions of Julio Jones quiet since the beginning. They have been receiving a lot of negativity for what fans thought, was them wanting to move them on their own. That is respectable, but still a little annoying that we have not known the truth for months. But ultimately they had good reason to keep it quiet.

Looking at this from the bigger picture, it is obvious which faucet of the Atlanta Falcons is suffering the most. The fans.

Julio Jones was semi disrespectful to the team and fans, but he is ultimately trying to get what he wants, thus, he is not really suffering. Even Shannon Sharpe is benefitting from hurting the Atlanta Falcons fans. This has been the biggest story the past day, he is no doubt given his show so many more views.

The Atlanta Falcons organization has ultimate control over Julio Jones. They can do what they want with him, and in the end, they will do what they want with him. They are not suffering because they know what they are doing with him, unlike the fans. The team makes the decisions.

Every other team and fanbase in the NFL gets to think about what it would be like to add the best receiver in the NFL, and one of the greatest ever. This happening, while all Atlanta Falcons fans have to watch in sadness, as he forces himself off the team.

Long story short, it is heartbreaking to know that the player all of us Falcons fans have had the utmost respect for, and have watched in awe when he makes a miraculous catch, force himself off the team.

The fans are the ones who get the short end of the stick, they are the ones who have had nothing but love for Julio, but they are also the ones who end up suffering through this whole saga the most.
