3) Hiring Steve Sarkisian over one of the LaFleur brothers

This one is still weird, why did the Atlanta Falcons elect to take a college coach who has never coached the team, over a couple promising young coordinators who have been contributed to the recent success of the Falcons?

Mike LaFleur went on to join Kyle Shanahan as the wide receivers coach, and passing game coordinator in San Francisco. Now he was hired by the Jets’ new head coach, Robert Saleh, to become the offensive coordinator of the Jets.

And Matt LaFleur, the position coach who helped Matt Ryan win an MVP, went on to join the Rams and Titans before becoming the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. And if you have forgotten, LaFleur got the Packers to the championship game this past season, and almost to the super bowl.

It seems as though Dan Quinn’s outside relationship with Steve Sarkisian took precedent over hiring a positional coordinator who helped the team make the super bowl. Whatever was the reasoning, it is blatant that it was the wrong move and likely costed the Falcons more than we will ever know.

2) Losing Julio Jones trust

This is not necessarily a decision, it is more of a lack of maintenance.

Who is at fault for Julio Jones leaving is not fully known. Was it Fontenot looking to trade him? Was it Julio feeling he did not get a good enough contract? Or was it simply a loss of trust in decision-making?

There are many questions, but it seems as though the previous front office caused Julio Jones to lose trust in the franchise, leading to him wanting to be traded.

This was a huge mistake, it cost one of their best players in the history of the franchise.

Very few people know who’s fault it really is, but it certainly seems to be relating to the previous regime.
