5. Deion Jones is an underappreciated talent whose career could have gone very differently

Unless Arthur Smith transforms this defense Deion Jones is just a bit too late in his career to make a Hall of Fame push. But we would be remiss not to mention him on this list. Jones is a great linebacker who has been surrounded by inept coaching and terrible defenses.

He is always in the right place at the right time and flies around the field with ferocity. He has an above-average ability to cover as a linebacker and his speed and ability to work sideline to sideline made him one of the most exciting young defenders in the league during his first two seasons.

However, with an increasingly poor defensive approach and little talent around him, his abilities and talent have gone to waste in Atlanta.

In a capable defense Jones would be a star who had the potential to make the Hall. Now two things must happen in the next four years for Jones to get his career back on track.  Jones must produce at an insane level and find playoff success. Two things it is hard to see happening in Atlanta despite Jones’s talent levels.
