2. Is Matt Ryan a Hall-of-Fame quarterback without winning a ring?

This is the toughest argument on the list when you consider Ryan’s recent career lowlights compared to his elite all-time production. Ryan is a great quarterback who is often underappreciated due to the poor teams and defenses put around him.

Though not as talented as Rodgers much like Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan has only made it to one Super Bowl during his career due to his front office and the team around him. However, the difference is Rodgers won his one chance while Ryan failed due to a poor play call and it is now considered a blight instead of the MVP year full of accomplishments that it was.

While I believe based on statistics alone Ryan deserves strong Hall-of-Fame consideration he is going to have to finish strong these last few seasons under new offensive coach Arthur Smith.

Stats won’t matter as much as winning will during his final seasons. If Ryan can go out as a contender with a winning record and a bit more playoff success I believe it changes enough minds to land him in the Hall-of-Fame.

If not, and he continues to lose before ending his career Ryan will be remembered as an all-time passer who couldn’t get the W late in his career and fair or not it would be used to keep him out of Canton.
