Through the first week of Atlanta Falcons training camp it has seemed as if there is only one player on the team’s roster with the last name of “Hawkins”, and that would be Javian Hawkins, the undrafted running back from Louisville.

However, do not forget that there is another guy on the Atlanta Falcons defense with the last name of Hawkins, Jaylinn Hawkins.

Jaylinn Hawkins will be entering his second season with the Atlanta Falcons, and hopefully he is fully healthy. If he is, then people better watch out for him.

Do not forget about Jaylinn Hawkins presence on the Atlanta Falcons defense, he showed some promising play during an injury-riddled year

Again all the chatter during Atlanta Falcon’s training camp has been about the running back, Javian Hawkins, and for good reason, but we should not forget about the talented Jaylinn Hawkins on the other side of the ball.

The other facet of Jaylinn being overlooked is that the only safeties you hear about on the Falcons are Duron Harmon, Erik Harris, and rookie Richie Grant.

Jaylinn Hawkins is in the middle of that group as well. He also happens to be the only one that was on the Falcons roster a year ago out of the four of them.

He suffered an injury that costed him multiple games in 2020, but he showed some promise nonetheless.

He had a few hard hits that were similar to the way Keanu Neal would strike offensive players. It is something that Dean Pees should welcome. Good defenses make offenses scared to enter the middle of the field.

Jaylinn has already made a couple nice plays in camp during the past week.

What Jaylinn Hawkins brings to the Atlanta Falcons is size at the backend of their defense. And again his punishing tackling that can have unforeseen effects on an opposing offense

Hopefully Jaylinn Hawkins will make an impact that will force his name to be mentioned, unlike the current scenario.
