Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan continues to face disrespect
By Nick Halden
#10 Kylar Murray
Kylar Murray is ridiculously talented and has the ability to prove himself a top-ten quarterback in the league this year. However, ranking him 10th is a bit pre-mature for a player yet to be in the playoffs on a team whom we are unsure has the right head coach.
Murray’s speed and pure ability make him electric to watch he leaps off of the screen and has an underdog quality one cannot help but cheer for. Perhaps a discussion can be had in the years moving forward Murray will be better. Certainly an understandable argument, however, these rankings are meant for this season alone.
Ranking Murray in front of Ryan is one of the most head-scratching moves on a confusing list. Murray is in the toughest division in football and his numbers noticeably faded down the stretch last season.
Perhaps it is the “Hail Murray” or the fact he is simply so much fun to watch and to root for but Murray is not a better quarterback than Matt Ryan. That could easily change this season considering Murray’s youth and the talent around him. But for now, Ryan is by far the more proven and the better player headed into the season. Ranking Murray ahead of him after Kylar’s struggles is simply shortsighted and speaks to the fact Ryan is criminally underrated.
