Atlanta Falcons looking at how the NFC South fared in week one

With their first embarrassing loss of the season in books, the Atlanta Falcons can look at how the rest of the NFC South fared in week one.  Atlanta was at the bottom of the barrel in a division that is extremely top-heavy.

Atlanta’s 32-6 loss would be easier to swallow if not for the fact it came against an Eagles team expected to be in the basement of their own division.

Atlanta was dominated in week one and is going to need to improve quickly as they turn their attention to week two and the Tampa Bay Bucs.

The Atlanta Falcons were the biggest disappointment in the NFC South in week one

While the NFC South isn’t going to be one of the better divisions they do have four teams who were all expected to be competitive in their first game of the season. Atlanta is the only team that completely failed to live up to that expectation.

Perhaps the only expectation Atlanta is capable of consistently meeting is finding new ways to lose. On the plus side for Falcons fans this loss wasn’t a lead choked away. The Falcons never had a lead to give up in the first place this time around. Now on to the rest of the NFC South…
