2. A terrible Atlanta defense managed late stops to give the offense a chance

The Atlanta Falcons defense made Jalen Hurts look like an MVP and struggled to understand they were supposed to cover opposing receivers. Yet when they needed it most the Falcons defense managed to get two stops and give the ball back to Matt Ryan and the offense.

Atlanta’s stops weren’t due to talent it was playing their assignments and the coordinator putting them in a position to succeed.

Lost in the fact they allowed 32-points is late in the game Atlanta came up with two stops to give Ryan a chance to put them back in the game.

When it was still a one-score game and when it was a two-score game the defense managed to find stops to give Ryan a chance to pull the Falcons back into it. While the defense still looks abysmal it was encouraging to see them manage stops to give Ryan a chance.

If the offense played to the level they are capable they would have been in the game. Defensively Atlanta isn’t going to win the Falcons any games this year but perhaps a better-coached younger unit will manage to continue to get enough stops to get Matt Ryan a chance.
