The one thing that stuck out more than anything for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday was the offensive line – and not for a positive reason.

Long story, short, they got their soul’s ripped out of them. For the most part, the issue came at the left guard spot and the right tackle spot, but nonetheless, that was enough to lose the Falcons the game.

It will be vital for the team to find any type of improvement upfront if they want any chance to win the next handful of games.

Things will likely get even more ugly for the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons will be taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday, followed by the New York Giants, Washington Football Team, and the New York Jets.

This is not a good scenario for the Falcons to say the least.

The Buccaneers have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL – led by Vita Vea, Ndamukong Suh, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Shaq Barrett.

It is a terrifying thought thinking about Shaq Barrett being matched up against Kaleb McGary and Vita Vea being blocked by Jalen Mayfield. If you thought things were bad for Matt Ryan on Sunday, you may want to watch this game blindfolded.

The week following that, the Falcons will take on the New York Giants.

The average fan may think that will be an easy matchup for the offensive line, but that is not true. They are led by a resurging Leonard Williams and a mammoth of a man in Dexter Lawrence. It is no cakewalk for the Falcons offense.

However, when comparing them to the week four matchup, it may actually be a cakewalk.

Washington will come to town with one of the, if not the best, defensive lines in the entire NFL. They have ridiculous talent across their line led by Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, and Daron Payne.

What else can be said? It might be the biggest nightmare a Falcons fan could imagine. The team has to improve by significant margins to be able to compete with Washington, even with Washington’s quarterback concerns.

In the final week before the bye week, they will go to London to play the New York Jets.

Out of all of these teams, this is probably the easiest line they play, but they do have some individual talent.

Sheldon Rankins is a player they are familiar with. He came over from the Saints after an injury-riddled career. Folorunsi Fatukasi may not be a starter but he has shown the ability to do his job at a high level for New York.

Out of all of their linemen, it is Quinnen Williams that you worry about.

The former third overall pick has improved in every game he has played. He has elite quickness that Mayfield will likely struggle to stop.

The bye week may not come early enough for the Atlanta Falcons. Seeing the defensive lines they play in the first five weeks is something you could base a horror movie around. The Falcons could seriously be winless going into the bye week simply due to their left guard and right tackle positions.

Atlanta Falcons fans might want to get some blindfolds to watch the upcoming games with.
