Safeties:

  • FS: Scott Case
  • SS: Keanu Neal

Scott Case may not be the most recognizable name to the average fan but he was certainly special.

He played a total of eleven seasons in red and black as a hard-hitting safety who could also find the football with the best of them.

Case was the NFL interceptions leader in 1988 with ten – which is a franchise record – and that was his lone Pro Bowl appearance in his career, somehow. He was really a “do it all” type player, he would hit you, pressure the quarterback, and even snag numerous interceptions.

What could have been if Keanu Neal had stayed healthy throughout his career. He has already shown the NFL that he is one of the hardest hitters of the era, with his numerous highlights of blowing his opposition up.

He does not have the longevity or statistics that you may look for but when he played – especially early in his career – he was a true game-changer for the Falcons defense and one that any team could use.
