Atlanta Must Keep Matt Ryan Upright

While the Falcons defense could not get to the quarterback in Week One, their offensive line let the opposing defense get to theirs.

All in all, Matt Ryan was sacked three times and hit nine times.

It goes without saying that any quarterback can only be effective when upright. When upright, Ryan and Atlanta have played well against Tampa in his career. He has a 16-10 record with 41 touchdown passes to 16 interceptions.

To that end, Ryan has no shortage of weapons on offense this season. As a whole, he has targets like Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage at wide receiver, Kyle Pitts, their first-round pick in this year’s draft, and Hayden Hurst at tight end.
