3. Austin Reiter failed to protect Patrick Mahomes could he protect Matt Ryan?

Austin Reiter is a bit of a victim of one infamous performance, something Atlanta and their fans can relate to. While he has never been elite Reiter was a productive player throughout his career before being absolutely destroyed by the Tampa defensive line in the Super Bowl.

The center now remains a free agent with his most memorable game being the worst of his career. Could he truly be worse than Atlanta’s current option at the position?

Honestly, it is hard to see Austin being much worse than any of Atlanta’s current options at center. While this could be a bit biased considering Matt Hennessy just faced the same Tampa Bay Bucs. Still, Matt objectively isn’t a good center and Reiter would be an upgrade, Hennessy isn’t a player who is going to be in this league for very long. In year two would he be starting for any other team? This is arguable but looking around the league you will be hard-pressed for a team that thinks he would be an upgrade or comparable to their starter.

Reiter is a slight upgrade but every small upgrade Atlanta can afford will get them a step closer to beating the bevy of terrible teams they will be facing this season.
