5. Damon Harrison improves a defensive line relying on Grady Jarrett

Reading back this top five list and realizing every one of these bottom of the barrel free agents would improve Atlanta is as damaging as anything you could write about this team. Every player on this list is an improvement and would make a very questionable roster better. If washed-up veterans looking for one last chance consistently would fit within your roster there is not a lot of hope for your season.

Damon Harrison is an example of just that, the defensive lineman would help shore up the middle of the Atlanta defense. While he has struggled to be productive in recent years is he worse than any of Atlanta’s current options?

Harrison would give the Falcons another big body to plug in the middle of their defense and hopefully allow Jarrett more opportunities to impact the play. Grady is consistently being chipped and double-teamed due to the lack of respect for anyone else on the Atlanta line.

Much like Jeffrey or Peterson, Damon is a veteran whose best days are behind him. Adding him would be a bit of window dressing for a team whose shelves are terribly empty.  No doubt if this team is going to keep up the charade of being competitive in the next two years with Matt Ryan they must take some swings.
