3) Cordarrelle Patterson (HB)

The impact of the Atlanta Falcons signing Cordarrelle Patterson has been felt in many different areas.

In what was one of the biggest surprises of week one, Patterson was given several carries early on, before the Falcons essentially abandoned the running game. He was simply more effective than Mike Davis.

He has always been a very talented player but has struggled with finding a defined role in an offense, finally, he has seemingly found a defined role in Arthur Smith’s offense.

Patterson had a couple athletic highlights that were jaw-dropping.

The first one came on the first touchdown of the season by the Falcons. He took a toss to the right, cut upfield, broke Antoine Winfield’s ankles, and jogged into the endzone.

The second highlight came later in the game when he caught a check-down pass, hit it up the field, tight roped the sideline, and broke a couple tackles but barely stepped out of bounds in what could have been a long touchdown play.

Finally, we have the one-handed catch on a pass that Matt Ryan somehow was able to get rid of. Patterson snag the pass like it was nothing and sprinted down the field for an easy touchdown.

It has seriously been fun to watch the Falcon’s new playmaker on the field. Not only has he made an impact on the offensive side, but he also created a huge impact on kickoffs for the Falcons in week two.

The Buccaneers, on every kickoff, pooched kicked it and it ended up giving the Falcons better field position than is usual.

If he continues to make these plays, Arthur Smith will be forced to use him even more and more.
