The Atlanta Falcons are in big trouble at this position against Giants
A.J. Terrell was one of those players that the Atlanta Falcons could not afford to lose – yet here we are with Terrell being ruled out against the Giants.
The Falcon’s have one of the thinnest secondaries in the entire league, they do not have top-end talent outside of Terrell and possibly Richie Grant. It is a scary truth for Dean Pees, as now he is going to have to get extremely tricky with his play calls to be able to cover up for the deficiencies.
Losing A.J. Terrell was a worst-case scenario for the Falcons.
The Atlanta Falcons are preparing to take on the New York Giants in East Rutherford, and if there is one strength to the Giants, it is their skill positions on offense.
This is a bad situation for the Falcons who will be entering the game with Fabian Moreau as their cornerback and T.J. Green as the other starting outside corner. Moreau has played pretty bad so far this year, while T.J. Green has been a revelation so far for the team but has yet to prove very much in the regular season.
These guys will be going against Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Kadarius Toney.
Those four guys combine for a dynamic group of receivers in New York – certainly one that will be anything but easy for the depleted Falcon’s secondary.
A.J. Terrell has been the leader for the group, but he sustained a concussion on a spectacular play against the Buccaneers when he leaped high in the air and broke up a pass that would have gone for a huge chunk of yards to Antonio Brown.
For the Falcons to win this game they are going to have to find some way to cover up for the major holes in the secondary. This means that the pass rush must come up big for Atlanta. Dante Fowler Jr. has to show up in this game, as well as Jacob Tuioti-Mariner.
This also is not the same Daniel Jones that many have watched for the Giants from the past few years. He has been playing outstanding. He is passing the ball better than he ever has, and everyone knows about his ability to use his feet.
Needless to say, this may end costing the Atlanta Falcons the game. A.J. Terrell is one of the most important players on the team, losing him could be costly.
