What are the Atlanta Falcon’s weaknesses vs. Giants?
Leonard Williams vs. Falcons awful offensive line
This would not be as big of an issue for Atlanta if Leonard Williams did not mainly line up on the right side of the defensive line. The confidence of seeing Lindstrom block Williams is on another level than what we will be watching on Sunday – Leonard Williams against Jalen Mayfield and possibly Matt Hennessy.
Williams was a former high draft pick for the New York Jets. He was an exceptionally talented player that never showed what the Jets were expecting from him until later on. They elected to trade him across the street to the Giants and they have not looked back since.
He has been simply spectacular for them and really has been their only defensive linemen that have played well.
They do have another former high draft pick in Dexter Lawrence out of Clemson, but he has been up and down so far. He is a huge body in the middle, but Leonard Williams is certainly their premier pass rusher.
It will likely land on the shoulders of Jalen Mayfield to stop Williams and that is not a good thought. He managed to improve in his second game but was still quite awful.
This matchup might be the deciding factor between the Falcons scoring 30 points or scoring 14 points.
