1. Cam Newton is the weapon Atlanta is dreaming Feleipe Franks is

Okay, first things first with this potential fit Atlanta was the first team in the league to be fully vaccinated. It was a pre-season story Newton wasn’t vaccinated if that is still the case this isn’t a fit for Atlanta considering their pride and focus on the issue.

If he is Newton would breathe life into this offense and their rushing attack. The Falcons are attempting to use Franks as a weapon and so far the results have been underwhelming. If Atlanta wants a backup quarterback to use out of position Cam Newton is their guy.

He is the best free agent on the market with Richard Sherman off the market. Using Newton in goalline and short-yardage situations is something that would improve Atlanta’s struggling execution.

Newton is a big personality who would bring energy and life back to this Atlanta team. At this point what do the Falcons have to lose? Newton isn’t a threat to Matt Ryan while providing value and a viable backup behind him. It is a match that made a lot of sense when Newton was first cut and makes even more sense now that Atlanta wants to use another quarterback in their offense. Cutting Franks and signing Newton is a move that makes Atlanta better and certainly more entertaining.
