4. Golden Tate cannot be worse than any of Atlanta’s current options

Golden Tate is a player much like Peterson has his best years behind him. However, unlike Peterson, he is an unquestioned upgrade to this roster. If you watched Atlanta on Sunday you know Ryan was struggling to find reliable targets.

The number of times he hit players in the hands only to have them drop it was infuriating. Ryan needs another veteran receiver to come in and help provide him a reliable target. Julio Jones perhaps did more for this offense than anyone knew.

Now with Jones gone and free agency over Atlanta needs to make a desperate move and sign Tate. Ideally, Atlanta would acquire a receiver with size considering how slightly built their two starters are.

However, the only receivers who fit this description currently on the market are Dez Bryant and Alshon Jeffrey. Neither player is going to help Atlanta in the drops department though in fairness they could not be much worse than Atlanta’s current options either.

Regardless of who they add Atlanta has to know they cannot win games without improved production from their receivers or bringing in new talent. Golden Tate isn’t a great fit but of the options, it is the most sensible one.
