1. Calvin Ridley wasn’t a great receiver on Sunday

Calvin Ridley’s struggles go beyond this game, something you can read a bit more in-depth about here. However, for this exercise let’s focus squarely on Sunday’s game against Washington.  If Ridley plays to his talent level Atlanta wins on Sunday it is that simple.

Twice we watched Ryan lay a deep ball perfectly out for Ridley who both times failed to secure the ball and make the catch. If Ridley doesn’t drop the ball consistently on Sunday Atlanta wins easily and is sitting at 2-2 getting ready to face the Jets. It changes the complexion of their season and the road ahead of them.

Ridley certainly doesn’t deserve all of the blame but he earned his fair share. Your best receiver has to make at least one of those plays on Sunday. Ryan has few players he can count on and now even Ridley is in question.

The Jets are a team not known for their defensive prowess Ridley must improve and perform to his talent level in London. Calvin is supposed to be Atlanta’s best receiver and capable of making big plays. Julio Jones is gone Ridley is the primary playmaker and on Sunday he failed to make those plays, Sunday has to be a different story against a struggling Jets team.
