3.  A.J. Terrell took a step back against Washington

Up until Sunday, Terrell had been impressive and arguably Atlanta’s best defender. While this isn’t an impressive feat it was an encouraging one for a team desperate to find a corner to build their secondary around.

It is hard to judge one member of a secondary so challenged. They have little talent and seem to be unable to comprehend and execute basic schemes.  Coaching isn’t the problem with this particular unit, it is a lack of talent. When you are unable to stay disciplined in even the most basic of coverages your secondary is going to be one of the worst in the league and that is what Atlanta’s has been thus far.

A.J. had been a lone bright spot and needs to improve on Sunday against the Jets. Washington targeted Terrell as the corner came back from injury and Terrell didn’t win enough. He consistently was a step late and didn’t look as dominant as he had before his injury. The Jets lack elite receivers and Terrell should have no problem putting together a better performance Sunday.
