With the Falcons third-round pick, they need to target a right tackle to replace McGary

Kaleb McGary has just not cut it as the starting right tackle of the Atlanta Falcons. For a team built around the passing game, having a right tackle who struggles mightily as a pass blocker is a major issue.

It has been talked about time after time, McGary has been a bust so far. While he certainly can turn it around, it is highly doubtful at this time for him to improve enough to warrant a starting job. The coaching staff should consider moving him inside to become a guard, this will cover up for his lack of arm length that is so routinely exposed in pass protection outside.

Matt Ryan needs to be able to trust both sides of the line, and grabbing a high upside right tackle would certainly help down the road.

This is also a new front office so they are not attached to McGary like Thomas Dimitroff would be. Fontenot did not draft him, therefore he should not be reluctant to replace him.

It has continued to be a problem, while Jalen Mayfield and Matt Hennessy have been quite terrible, they are still in their first year of being a starter, we must give them time. Like mentioned before, at this point Kaleb McGary is doing the best he can with his physical limitations, time to try and find someone who can take over.

Atlanta should look at taking a linebacker to prepare for the future

Most expected the duo of Deion Jones and Foye Oluokun to tear it up for the Falcons defense, but sadly that has not happened so far this season.

It is early in the year, and chances are that they are still learning the scheme, but even if they improve the Falcons might have to prepare to move forward without one of them in the coming years.

We all know how Deion Jones got the money he deserved a while back, but the rise of Oluokun last year has presented a money problem in the near future for the team. Foye is will be a free agent in the upcoming offseason if the Falcons do not sign him to a new contract.

It is hard to imagine Fontenot paying or even finding a way to pay the two linebackers around ten million per year, have to imagine that this might be Foye’s last season in Atlanta.

While they still have Mykal Walker, it is necessary to find another linebacker to add to the group. Walker has received numerous snaps, which means the defense needs at least three inside linebackers to function.
