The Atlanta Falcons defense did not exactly have a great performance on defense against the Miami Dolphins. They gave up a total of 28 points to a Dolphins offense led by Tua Tagovailoa, who also threw two interceptions.

The struggles came all across the defense, the pass rush did not get pressure consistently while the secondary struggled—especially after A.J. Terrell had to leave the game, and it has cost his replacement his job due to his struggles.

Atlanta Falcons reportedly cut T.J. Green following a bad performance against Miami

The Falcons have not wasted any time following the game, by saying goodbye to a corner who has played a good amount of snaps, including starting against the Giants when Terrell was inactive with a concussion.

Obviously, there is the potential that Green will end up back on the practice squad. He has talent but has just not been able to put it together.

It is surprising to see the team take action that quickly after one game, this shows that they are not here to wait for anyone to figure it out, they are going to make the moves they need to make.

It sends a clear message to the team that they must perform to stay around this team, as previously mentioned T.J. Green started a game for this Falcons defense this season.

If there is a bright side to seeing T.J. Green cut, it is that it signals toward the fact that A.J. Terrell’s injury he suffered against the Dolphins is not serious. He was evaluated for a concussion but ended up not returning to the game due to a neck injury.

The team has also waved goodbye to kicker Elliot Fry and signed Luther Kirk—a second-year safety out of Illinois State who has spent time with the Minnesota Vikings—to take over for Elliot’s spot on the practice squad.
